It's 3:39am Central Time on Friday morning, 2006 is just around the corner and, in the spirit of things, I felt the need to start anew.

I hope you like the new design. I admit I miss the Eclipse design but (secretly) it's refreshing to not have my blog contents confined to a small screen on the corner. Bare with me for the rest of the week... it's all still under construction and I'm having some MAJOR issues with some of the defaults of this template.

Au Revoir ma petit Eclipse! I will miss you!

THERE YOU GO!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Working for Christmas

IMG_4034

This is my desk. On SATURDAY MORNING. While I'm working.

IMG_4032

That's me at my desk. On SATURDAY MORNING. While I'm working.

1 hour overtime everyday= $21/hour
5 hours overtime over the weekend = $105
knowing that my deprivation of a social life helped people all over the world experience the shallow gossip of hollywood society: priceles.... wait- no.

For the last 2 weeks I've worked a total of 14 hours overtime, and though I LOVE the money (God bless the money) I AM EXHAUSTED. Bossman Bryan left for 2 weeks to take his christmas vacation in Korea so me and the girls (Grace, Raven, Shivaune, & Erika- oh, and dont forget James!) were SWAMPED with work. And it's not just our normal work either- we're switching the international shows from home base LA to satellite Paris, which means a LOT of changing timecode, QCing of FLMs AND INTNETS, Scheduling (and upkeeping) tracking grids, uploading Pac files, and late night sweaty nightmares of PILAT, PILAT, PILAT.

*sob*

It was so hectic. OMG was it hectic. Luckily Shivaune and I each got our own Polyscript computers to make the workload easier on the masses. But poor Grace and Raven.... and I swear if I have to see the Dub & Sub Inventory or the SDI/VSI/LUMIERE Delivery Schedules EVER AGAIN I'm going to burst.

lolol and it makes me giddy that you probably dont understand a WORD I am saying. :)

Updates:
Peter got a new bed! Courtesy of Madame Jean Bean, of course. :) It's good he did, too, because for the past 4 years (dare I say 4) he has been using a stuffy, dirt & STD infested, smelly DORM mattress from MIU. EEEEWWWWW. I documented the process of him putting the bed together:

IMG_4036

I can imagine I was constantly in the way. But that's okay- ART needs never feel it's in the way. :)
In the end, with the addition of some very fine IKEA bedsheets (and a deauve! *sorry spelling*) Peter had me green as a jelly bean with jealousy.

IMG_4076

Well, luckily for me my poor kitty Cleo got sick ALL OVER my bed. Why is that lucky? Because when I put my comforter in the washing machine it totally tore and the insides went everywhere. And then I JUST HAD to get a nice deauve (doo-vay) from IKEA so I wouldn't freeze to death at night.

1 hour overtime everyday= $21/hour
5 hours overtime over the weekend = $105
knowing that my deprivation of a social life helped people all over the world experience the shallow gossip of hollywood society: n/a
knowing that i just worked up enough money to afford a deavue and i dont have to worry about my financial stability: PRICELESS!

Peter's Poem

Who knew my roommate was a poet?

I'll See You
(In honor of our departing friend. May he come back soon)

Ill see you when it all dies down,
When weve both forgotten the tragic story.
The day life begins and immaturity ends,
And we begin our future glory.

Ill see you when our sparks fly and shells are buried,
When we dance around in the next stage.
The wrinkles gone and joints anew,
Well be back at our young age.

Ill see you when hell has frozen over,
When Satin is petrified in snow.
Pigs will sprout wings and sail through the sky,
For theyve joined the airs great blow.

Ill see you when your friends are all gone.
When there is but a mir memory,
Of a simple world we use to live in,
A vague past, with a vague story

Ill see you when youve realized what was lost,
With swollen eyes life passes by you.
Cupid gone and hope missing,
No roses red, nor violets blue.

Ill see you when the storms roll in
When thunder shakes the ground.
An underdog fight we may never win.
As the rain beats us down.

Ill see youSome Day

Queens, Screens, and Another One Bites the Dust

Alrighty!

So, this past Saturday the Filmmaker House held it's first ever Red Carpet World Premiere! "My Struggle" was (finally) screened in a little indy hole called the Silent Movie Theatre. www.silentmovietheatre.com (thankful plug). In anticipation of the great event the House extended their screening invitations to those most beloved to them: their family. Andy's mother, Peter's mother, and My Mommy all flew in, and- for a few sweet, short days- the beloved servants of the Filmmaker House were graced by the presence of their Queens. My most memorable moment was waking up at 6 am Friday morning and wondering were my mother was, only to look through the windows to the front yard where my mom was standing IN THE RAIN WASHING MY CAR WHILE WEARING MY LEOPARD PRINT PAJAMAS.

My Mommy and Peter's Mommy. :)

On a small side note, I saw something interesting while picking up my mother from LAX on thursday night. A truck was sitting in front of me in traffic, and while my imagination swam me through schools of Ford Fish, my eyes noticed something quite funny. Take a look:

Anywhoo... Here are some pics from the screening. If anyone would like a copy of the movie just email me your address and I'd be happy to send you one :) Oh! A nice surprise was waiting for me the day of the screening! One of my BEST FRIENDS EVER was there! CHAU! AND BABY MARIKO!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geez... I hadn't seen her in 5 years. Lucas (her husband) had driven 6 HOURS to get to the screening. ISN'T THAT SWEET?! HI CHAU!!!

The directors and Dan answer questions.

It was a whole lotta fun. A good amount of people showed up, and we got some pretty great reviews. Afterwards everyone came to our house for drinks and conversation by the fire (YES! WE HAVE A CHIMNEY!) and Jake beat all us kids pretty badly at Mario Kart 64.

Afterwards I showed Mommy around LA. I tried real hard to show her the "Hollywood" side of it, but we mostly gravitated towards the Filipino parts. We ate 2 different filipino restaurents 3 times in the 3 days that she was here! AWESOME!

*sigh*

Well guys... happiness never lasts forever. After Mommy left on Sunday (we went to a filipino church in the morning!) Erick left the next day. He has a possible job in Peru, so for the next few months he will be living there. I'm happy for him, but at the same time I'm pretty sad. He was fun to be around. I miss you Erick! You AND the Captain :)

Erick's gone :(

WE NEED ROOMMATES.

Anywhoo. So you could say he bit the dust. OR I could tell you that I got upgraded at E! Entertainment from temp employee to full-time freelancer and you can tell me who REALLY bit the dust. Bye bye delicious freedom, hello corporate enslavement. Is money really all that important?

Mommy- don't answer that.

This Made Me Cry at Work

THE KISS

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.

She is pregnant.

When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

awww

And people say animals are dumb.

Me, In a Blogthing Nutshell

Your Life Path Number Is 7

You are a peaceful and affectionate soul... and by nature rather reserved and analytical.
The overwhelming strength of the number 7 is reflected in the depth of thinking that is shown.
You will garner knowledge from practically every source that you find.
Intellectual, scientific and studious, you don't accept a premise until you have dissected the subject and arrived at you own independent conclusion.

This is a very spiritual number and it often denotes a sort of spiritual wisdom that becomes apparent at a fairly early age. You need a good deal of quiet time to be with your own inner thoughts and dreams.
You dislike crowds, noise and confusion.
You are very thorough and complete in your work, the perfectionist who expects everyone else to be a meet a high standard of performance, too.
You evaluate situations very quickly and with amazing accuracy.
You rely heavily on your experiences and your intuition, rather than accepting advice from someone.
Your hunches usually prove to be very accurate, and knowing this, you are one who tends to follow the directions they seem to guide.

It's easy for you to detect deception and recognize insincere people.
You aren't one to have a wide circle of friends, but once you accept someone as a friend, it's for life.
You really aren't a very social person, and your reserve is often taken to be aloofness.
You actually like being alone, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
In many ways, you would have fit in better in much earlier times when the pace of life was less hectic.

In the most negative use of the 7 energies, you can become very pessimistic, lackadaisical, quarrelsome, and secretive.
A Life Path 7 individual who is not living life fully and gaining through experiences.
A negative 7 is a hard person to live with because of a serious lack of consideration.
The negative 7 is very selfish and spoiled.

If you have any of the negative traits they are very difficult to get rid of.
At your worst, you feel that the world really does owe you something - or in some way you aren't being fairly treated.
Fortunately, the negative 7 is not the typical 7, at least not without some mitigating positive traits.
This number is one that seems to have some major shifts from highs to lows.
Stability in feelings may be elusive for you.

Futility Can Prosper

The E! Entertainemnt corporate whippings have ceased for a small moment so that the eternal cubicle slaves can partake in the annual Thursday Bagel Feast. In some way, and I know this is the essence of it all, the slaves rejuvenate on that one day and say "Hazzah!" before going back to their now brightened lives of hard, back breaking work.

In other words, no matter how happy I am eating my Thursday Bagel I still realize that it is nothing but a corporate gift given to appease the building anger and resentment forming in it's employees' stomachs. And sadly most of the time it works.

We've become people of repetitive motion. Like Cleo waking me up in the morning to feed her CANNED food, I have been tamed.

*sigh*

I got a small glimpse of hope today though. I found out a few things about the slaves sitting beside me. Shivaune, for instance, is going to Tuesday classes to become a news anchor. Willis, on my right, goes to The Improv at night and does stand up comedy. I AM NOT THE ONLY CREATIVE TRYING TO BREAK FREE! It seems in some way everyone here is just here for the substantial benefits of paying off rent.

It's a small thing, but it makes me feel better knowing I am not alone.

Updates: Civilian War, Surprise Party, Harry Potter, & Life After Darryl

Okay. SORRY about having nothing but a pickle on my blog for a month. Thanks to the brilliance of David, I am updating my blog with the nice convienence of having all of my pictures on one section. So- here, in one fell swoop, is what I have done since Halloween thus far.

As a surprise birthday present for Peter (whose birthday is Nov. 27th) I took him to a civil war reenactment (I KNOW! I can't believe they hold those in California either!). Peter LOVED it. The whole week he thought I was bringing him to an autograph signing for Patrick Stewart (Trekkie) because he thought that I was going to do the same surprise I did with David. So when we drove to bumtown country he was SO confused. Ha ha... but the look on his face when he saw what it was was so worth the trip.
IMG_3618
IMG_3654
IMG_3669

Well... Pete's birthday isn't the only one in Nov. Darryl's is too (Nov. 6th) so when his came I decided to throw him a surprise party. I figured since he was leaving this month (left yesterday for home for possibly FOREVER*sob*) I would bring all his California friends to him so they could say goodbye.

IMG_3681
IMG_3683

He was pretty syked about it too. He had NO IDEA!!!! I took him to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles (OMG David and Angel, I have to bring you to this place) and we went home. And SURPRISE!!! :) It was awesome. Unfortunately I have no picture of his face during the actually surprising because I was behind him. :(

Anyway- like the cool dorks we are- on thursday we lined up for the first screening of Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire. We went to the midnight show at Grauman's Chinese (the theatre with all of the hands and feet in cement). OMG OMG OMG OMG. THE SINGLE BEST THEATRE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. And- in my opinion- the best EVER Harry Potter flick yet.

IMG_3703

We were in the front of the line (it went around like 2 blocks).

Me and Darryl :)
IMG_3766

But, alas, my weekend was not as fun as the days before. Darryl left! :( :( :( Because of immigration laws and the film industry Darryl has gone back to Grenada (HOPEFULLY temporarily) and for the first time in 4 years I must sleep in a cold bed. :( :( *sob*

IMG_3801
Darryl packing through the night.

Fortunately my roommates are awesome. Darryl left in the morning and I couldn't come home from the airport (because I had to go to work) but I didn't mention this too anyone at home, so halfway through the day I get a call on my cellphone from Andy, Peter, and Erick WORRIED that I had driven my car off a cliff or something. And when I finally did get home they were SO SWEET!!!! Aww... it was almost hard being depressed, because they were so concerned. I love them all so much.

*Sigh* Life after Darryl... is boring. Today I spent my day mooping around the house (although I went to the Samonases for a early Thanksgiving dinner, pics later). I found a weird formation of what might be spider eggs on my office window and I showed it to everyone.
IMG_3810

Peter was nice enough to get rid of it for me.

IMG_3811

My life without Darryl, though hard, is infinitely easier because of the amazing people I am lucky to live with.

Okay, so now I'll leave you with something funny. This is Peter's bike. Peter found his bike one day with a broken tire, so he decided he was going to fix it. How did he fix it? He CUT IT UP AND TAPED IT.

IMG_3544

*sigh*

Goodnight Guys! I miss you Darryl!
